Mommy Month!
It goes without saying that being a mom is the ultimate miracle and blessing that has changed my life.
I became a mom a little further down the line on my journey, but it was the perfect window.
I had established my professional path, recently been married, and looking forward to adventures creating my new family.
I always say, I just made it!
My daughter Kimaya is beyond my erry-thing and reminds me a lot of myself and has been coined my twin.
Kimaya has arrived at a phase where she is coming into her own, revealing likes and the dislikes, exhibiting self-expression and becoming more independent.
Often, I just sit back and watch in wonder, because I am amazed that I created such a beautiful little person.
She is creative, smart, kind and thoughtful and has a big heart. My dream is that she continues the path she’s on to become the greatest human she can be.
May also marks a halfway milestone to celebrating the BIG 10! in November, double digits here we come. It is amazing how fast we’ve grown, and yes, I said “we”.
As a parent every day is another day to learn something new about your child, that always translates to growth.
We, as moms are like navigators. Exploring territories for new experiences and safety, all while nourishing young minds, to become brilliant ones.
Motherhood is a unique challenge. Trying to get it right all the time is ambitious, but unrealistic. It took me a minute to embrace that it is OK.
Being a mommy has been one of my greatest rewards and I am glad she picked me.
Although I would like to take all the credit, but being a great mom has a lot to do with her village too - Dads, Jee-Jee’s, Nana’s, Poppi’s, Aunties and Uncles…really gives the saying “it takes a village” true meaning.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mommy’s!
Cheers!
