JUNE! the month we take a moment and celebrate all of our Father’s, Grandfather’s and Godfather’s!
A time to be thankful for all the love, guidance and support they have shared.
My dad has always been right by my side, teaching me and encouraging me to be the best human I could possibly be and to always consider others.
He is my first coach - tennis, math, golf and life advisor. He has guided me through countless challenging decisions, and I would say he is on point 99.9% of the time...love you dad!
Although Mommy Look is geared to recognizing all that we do as moms, we also want to acknowledge all the dads and husbands that support, lift us up and keep us motivated.
My husband Jay is the ultimate Dad and life partner. He is a jack of all trades, DJ, my"honey-do" and best friend. I like to call him my MacGyver..always there when you need him!...xoxo
Summer solstice is also something to look forward to this month, kicking off a season of recreation, family moments and warm weather is always exciting.
Summer for me means summer fridays at work, fun camp days for the kids, cooking on the grill, vacations, and beach days.
It’s a time to slow down and take it easy, as we approach another back-to-school season.
Although my family celebrates music everyday, June is a time when we recognize Black Music Month and honor musical artists who have contributed to every genre.
One genre close to my heart is HIP-HOP!
Hip-Hop and I grew up together hand and hand. This year marks the 50th anniversary and I am glad that this art form has stood the test of time. It is truly storytelling at it's finest.
Hip-Hop has influenced so many industries, fashion, sports, education, advertising/marketing and even how we approach medical rehabilitation...the culture really has impacted and touched every way of life.
There is always that one song though, that reminds us all that summer has arrived.
For me, it’s Why Don’t We Fall in Love by Amerie (produced by our friend Rich Harrison…shameless plug).
Something about this track that always makes me smile and think about all my summer memories.
Remember to enjoy the sunshine, visit the beach, and enjoy that summer cocktail in our Mommy Magnificent wine tumbler...you deserve it!
